The Essence of Colombia

Essence of Colombia was started in 2001 by James and Carolina Maxwell (one half Colombian, one half English) in order to form a brand that was dedicated to the improvement of the image of Colombia and also to the investment in Colombian people and culture. We wanted to create a fair-trade business that would be able to support the community and show that many people’s conception of Colombia was not accurate.
All of our staff are fully contracted in order to offer a fair wage with all benefits included - ie. health, pension, holidays etc.
